Tarot with Kochav
The first time someone ever read tarot for me, they said “The cards don’t read you, you read the cards.” No magic whatsoever. There are, of course, those who believe the opposite; that tarot is instead all divination. I think the truth is somewhere in between.
How much of a role the Divine plays in a reading depends entirely on whether the querent (one who asks the question – you) wants the Divine involved or not. And regardless, getting a layout of cards in front of you is an excellent way to pull thoughts out of your head and look at them. Whichever (or blending thereof) method(s) you are most called by, I would relish the opportunity to read for/with you.
For those located in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area, I am happy to discuss meeting in person. Most of my readings, however, take place on Zoom, and my clients have found they are just as clarifying and profound that way. I’m also offering tarot-by-correspondence, where I perform the reading asynchronously and send you detailed descriptions of what comes up. However the cards are read, I want to make sure the reading is catered to each querent.
I have been reading tarot for more than a decade, and my approach is collaborative – you, me, and the cards themselves. I work with Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore’s Shadowscape Tarot. The art of this deck is detailed, sumptuous, and features many figures usually represented as masculine re-interpreted as feminine. Most unique to me is the Shadowscape’s unwavering positivity. Tarot is a tool for honesty, but with this deck, rather than relying on the “brutal” presents that honestly with the warmth and caring one might expect from a dear friend.
In collaboration with my deck, caring is my intention in each reading. Discussing struggles – or even successes – in one’s life is vulnerable, and I work hard to create a space (online or in person) where you feel safe and confident being as vulnerable as you are ready to be.
In an effort to both offer accessible services and be radically honest about my need to support my disabled self and my family, I offer some readings on a sliding scale and others at a fixed rate. The prices are all multiples of 18, as this is a number associated with life and good fortune in my faith. However, the fee is always a conversation. A tarot reading also makes a wonderful gift or group activity, and I would be happy to discuss arranging readings for your friend, loved one, or group gathering for a special occasion.
